Place for special occasions Olive Bistro is one of those restaurants that has been in both mine and Minal's minds for years now. We planned to go there over 3 years ago to celebrate our engagement, but it just couldn't happen. And for one reason or another, we couldn't plan a later visit either. Nevertheless, for Minal's birthday last month, we got our opportunity. Despite some scepticism owing to COVID-19, we decided to go and are rather glad we did. Restaurant Location Olive Bistro is situated at the extreme end of Road No. 46, Jubilee Hills, overlooking the Durgam Cheruvu lake and park. The road leading up to the restaurant was eerily silent with a barely a soul around and it made us wonder if we were on the right path although Google Maps seemed to think we were. One of the best Indian restaurants in Belo Horizonte Continuing with my Indian restaurant exploration journey in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, my next stop after Namaste was Indian Gourmet. The restaurant itself was slightly lesser known than Namaste among the locals although some of them indicated they had heard the name but never really visited the place. Since I had already been to Namaste twice, I decided to try something new and give it a shot. Restaurant Location Indian Gourmet is located less than a kilometer away from Praca da Liberdade and about 2 kms away from Savassi making it easy for me to travel as I stayed in Savassi. I decided to visit on a weekend along with a colleague and booked a cab to get there. An excellent option for Indian food in Belo Horizonte, Brazil On a long business trip to Belo Horizonte last year, Namaste was the first of the Indian restaurants I got a chance to visit. Considering the duration of the stay, it was relieving to know Belo has a few Indian restaurants.  Restaurant Location Namaste is located on the main road in the Prado area and is rather easy to find. Situated about 2 km away from Mercado Central, Namaste is an ideal place to go for Indian food lovers after shopping spree in Mercado. Namaste Entrance Ambience Starting with the restaurant itself, there's isn't much to write home about the place or ambience . It is rather small and almost full capacity both times I visited. They did have a TV though that ran videos of Bollywood dance songs non-stop. While there was nothing new for me in it, some of the locals including my office colleagues there did kinda enjoy watching the dance moves while having their food. Brazilian Weigh & Pay System

A lavish restaurant that flatters to deceive This is the first post in my restaurant review sojourn and I decided to start with Jewel of Nizam, a restaurant I visited with my wife and a group of friends in 2019. We'd read a bit about the restaurant in the past, especially its construction and decided to go one day. Restaurant Location The restaurant is located within the premises of the Golconda resort with a brilliant view of the the Gandipet lake nearby. The construction is unique in the sense that it sits on top of a tower, a concept still largely alien to India. We went there for lunch and the royal feeling associated with the restaurant was there for us all to see. The view from the restaurant was awesome too overlooking the Gandipet lake with exquisitely set tables and cutlery.
